Figure 1. shows the typical construction of Kobelco oil-free and oil-injected screw compressors in process gas applications.

Slide Valve

Figure 2. shows the built-in slide valve, which automatically increases and decreases the actual suction volume. Brake horsepower therefore increases and decreases according to capacity, resulting in improved energy efficiency. The Oil-Injected Screw Compressor has a unique feature of tremendous power savings in cases of (a) turn down operation and/or (b) suction gas pressure fluctuation.
